Bedmart Brings Smiles to Area Youth

Phoenix, AZ (October 25, 2007) – Bedmart recently hosted 42 children from Free Arts of Arizona at the Kristi Yamaguchi Friends & Family event at the US Airways Center. In addition to Winter Olympic Gold Medalist Kristi Yamaguchi were special guests The Cheetah Girls and Corbin Bleu (from High School Musical). Free Arts of Arizona is a nonprofit organization that brings the healing powers of the creative arts to abused, neglected and homeless children by partnering with over 100 group homes, treatment centers and shelters in Maricopa County. “Bedmart is pleased to have the opportunity to provide an afternoon of pure fun and entertainment and bring smiles to these youngsters,” said Duke Pollock, Bedmart Director of Sales and Marketing. “Free Arts of Arizona is a great organization that helps children build self-esteem by unlocking their imaginations through visual arts, music, theater, dance, creative writing and other artistic projects,” Pollock concluded. Bedmart is Arizona’s largest mattress retailer with 27 stores statewide. The firm was started in Tucson in 1988 by Chet Goldberg, who was following a long-standing family tradition. His family has been doing business in Arizona since 1862 when his great-grandfather opened a general store in the Phoenix area.
